'The Hulk' Smoothie
Back in the late 70’s, my big brother and I faithfully tuned in each week to watch The Incredible Hulk television series starring Bill Bixby as Dr. Bruce Banner and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. Still, after all these years, I found myself turning into a giddy star-struck geek when I got meet Lou Ferrigno at Comic-Con a couple of years ago!
This hulk-inspired green smoothie recipe is chock-full of powerful superfoods fit for any aspiring superhero! Featuring the mighty avocado, its supercharged with healthy fat, fiber, protein, droves of minerals, and the whole alphabet of vitamins! As it's trusty sidekick, kale's nutritional superpowers includes an abundance of health-promoting phytonutrients. When this dynamic duo joins forces, they’re a powerful super-villain fighting team, kicking the butts of chronic inflammation, heart disease, diabetes and cancer!
And just to make this recipe even more healthful, I like of adding supplements to all my smoothie creations, though this is optional. The addition of collagen hydrolysate provides a good source of protein and is great for bone and joint care, as well as repairing the gut lining.
L-Glutamine is an amino acid fundamental to the wellbeing of our digestive and immune systems; and probiotics provide the “friendly” bacteria that helps the body properly break down and digest food, as well as keep the “bad” bacteria in check.
Drinking this superfood-crammed green smoothie, you're bound to feel pretty super for the rest of the day!
